Die deutsche "Banane" ist im Englischen der French Twist. The french twist si in German called "Banane" and yes it means banana.

Ich habe beschlossen, dass es etwas Gutes sein kann als Teil einer Gemeinschaft, die international ist, vereint durch etwas so simples, was sie erfreut. Und diese Dinge sind in Momenten wie diesen doch noch mal wichtiger: dass Menschen nicht nur hassen und verzweifeln können, sondern dass sie auch Freude teilen. Einfach aus einer kleinen Gemeinsamkeit heraus. Und sei es soetwas flaches wie eben Frisuren. Is is something good oder something "bad" to unite through a common hairstyle? Good in the sense of "United we stand!" or bad in the superficial sense of "Oh cool, a hashtagproject!"? I decided for me that it can be something good. Because the braiding community is international and friendly, just united over the common topic of joy through hairstyles. Maybe we can keep this in mind in moments like these: that humans are not only able to hate and to be desperate, but also to build a community and share happiness just on the base of something as simple and as superficial as hairstyles.
