Flechtwerk: Flower Power!

It is springtime and Flechtwerk is going to introduce to you the nicest way to celebrate fresh air, sunshine and new green: with flowers in your hair! Scroll down for my version and don't forget to click around to visit Nessa, Lenja, Wuscheline, Nixenhaar and Zoey.

I decided to go for smaller, soft flowers, matching my fragile hairtype and the fairylike style I love so much. I went outside and returned  home with some appleblossoms - not only nice in your hair but also in a bowl with water. Rooms like flowers too. :)

The hairstyle is super simple: it is a "sides up". Not really a half-up, as that version gathers to much hair and leaves the rest with too few volume. So just take you frontsections of hair, bring them to the back of your head (at the moment I love hairstyle which cover the ears, but feel free) and pin it in place with some bobbypins. If you drape over the ears it looks from the front as if you have double the amount of hair, than you really have, that is why I like that so much.

Than take the blossoms and carfully pin the stem in the "sides-up". The stem should be at least 2 or 3 centimeters long and ideally a bit stiff. If is shorter or softer, be extra careful or let another person assist you, because flowers are fragile and shed their petals if they are not treated with enough love and respect.
And that's it. If you like, add a flower that is visible from the front to look fresh not only, when people follow you but also when you talk to them. ;)

Little special this time: the Flechtwerk-Ladies will not only post again on May 15th, but also on the coming Friday. Why? Because five of us (Zoey was busy far, far away) managed to meet each other last wekend.  So read you soon, right? The necxt Flechtwerk post is only  days away.

Nächsten Monat wird dann mal wieder so richtig geflochten:
Frisuren mit Band
wird unser Thema für Mai.
Next month Flechtwerk will shwo something worth our name:
Braiding with a hairband
will be our topic for May.

Mai
Enjoy the sun and water your plants,
Mai
